Introduction

Egypt is a magnificent country.  Long ago, the Egyptians built a lot pyramids, created many mummies, and worshiped several gods. Egypt is a fascinating place to visit.

Mummies

The Egyptians created the first mummies.  Each mummy had its organs preserved in special jars.  The mummy was preserved using a special type of substance called “natron,” then it was wrapped.  Only wealthy people with high status like pharaohs were allowed to become mummies after they died.  The Egyptians were famous for their mummies.

Gods

Egyptians had several beliefs and gods. Their gods included Amun-Re, king of gods, Re, god of the sun, Bast, daughter of Re, Osiris, god of underworld and several others. Egyptians believed the pharaoh was a god in human form. They worshiped him and the other gods by sacrificing animals, building temples, constructing monuments, and much more. The Egyptians had many gods.

Pyramids

The Egyptians built many huge pyramids. It sometimes took 20,000 to 30,000 laborers to build one pyramid. Pyramids were used to be built with limestone, but the Egyptians later created it with stone and gold capped on its top. The famous Pyramid of Khufu stands triumphantly in Giza as the last remaining wonder of the world. Egyptians are great engineers.

Conclusion

I learned a lot of facts about Egypt.  I learned about the great pyramids, the preserved mummies, and the variety of gods.  In conclusion, Egypt is an interesting civilization.

Ancient Egypt was a mysterious place known as the "two lands".  Long ago, the Egyptians built the first pyramids.  They are also popular for their mummies.  Most importantly, they had several, strange gods.  Egypt is a very fascinating place to

visit today.

 Mummies

The Egyptians created the first mummies.  Each mummy had its organs preserved in special jars.  The mummy was preserved using a special type of substance called “natron.”  Then the mummy was wrapped using a special cloth for preserving.  Only wealthy people with high status like pharaohs were allowed to become mummies after they died.  Peasants buried their dead underground, preserving them naturally.  The Egyptians were famous for their mummies.

Gods

Egyptians had several religious beliefs and gods.  Each god had special abilities and helped the Egyptians if they worshiped them.  Important Egyptian gods included Amun-Re, king of the gods, Horus, god of the sky, Bast, god of darkness, Anubis, protector and god of mummification, and plenty of others.  Each pharaoh and each city worshiped a different god who had different forms.  Egyptians believed the pharaoh was also a god in human form.  They worshiped him and the other gods by sacrificing animals, building temples, constructing monuments, and attending ceremonies.  The Egyptians had many gods.

Pyramids

Long ago, Egyptians built many huge pyramids and sphinxes.  It sometimes took 20,000 to 30,000 laborers to build one pyramid or carve a giant sphinx. A sphinx had a lion’s body, a pharaoh’s face, and sometimes, wings of a hawk (symbolizing Horus). King Djoser made the first pyramid which had steps.  The famous Pyramid of Khufu stands triumphantly in Giza as the last remaining wonder of the world.  Pyramids were used to be built with limestone like Djoser’s, but the Egyptians later created pyramids with stone and gold capped on its top like Khufu’s.  Egyptians are engineers and architects.
